This is a small edition of only 18 linocut prints. It was printed by hand on my etching press using the reduction technique (see Below) . As each print is build up from many layers, each inked and printed separately there are very slight differences between each print. Each print is numbered, titled and signed. Your print will arrive wrapped in glassine paper in a card folder using Royal Mail signed for on delivery in the uk.
The linocut features a nuthatch amongst the catkins of a corkscrew hazel which grows in my garden.
Reduction lino cut method
One lino block is used to create a multi coloured image. Parts of the lino are carved away and a colour printed. Further areas are then carved away and another colour printed and so on, building up layers of colour.
The lino block is destroyed in the process, making the edition limited and unrepeatable. The process is time consuming, each piece of work is printed using oil based inks and Somerset paper and is unique as no two prints are quite the same.
